Louisiana Startup Report · Effective October 2026

The Louisiana Startup Report is published by Tulane University’s Albert Lepage Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation with LA.IO, a division of Louisiana Economic Development.

What this site collects

To help inform future reports, we record the questions asked and how well the assistant responded. We keep a session identifier so conversations hold together, and a one-way scrambled version of the visitor’s IP address to address any potential abuse. The scrambled version cannot be turned back into an IP, and actual IP addresses are never stored.

We record approximate location at the regional level only, meaning one of Louisiana’s eight economic development regions, another US state, or international.

The assistant opens with a short acknowledgement of how it works. We record that it was accepted and which version was shown. A cookie remembers this so readers aren’t asked twice.

Messages sent through a form on the site are kept so we can reply.

We also collect anonymous, cookieless analytics on page views and interactions, such as opening the assistant or downloading a chart; nothing in them identifies anyone.

What this site doesn’t do

No advertising. No tracking pixels. No following readers to other sites. Nothing is sold or shared. There are no accounts, and we don’t know who anyone is.

The survey data

The assistant answers only from the Louisiana Startup Report survey and has no access to the open web. Any result representing fewer than ten respondents is withheld, and when withholding one group would let another be worked out by subtraction, that one is withheld too. No individual response is ever shown. Tulane University is the source of record for the survey, and requests for the underlying data go to Tulane.

Who else is involved

The assistant runs on Anthropic’s Claude. The site is hosted by Vercel, stores data with Supabase, uses Cloudflare to block automated abuse, and sends email through Resend. Each handles data only to provide its service.
